Webster Nursery School . . .

Webster Nursery School was formed in 1956 by a group of families who wanted to be directly involved in their children’s first school experience. Despite many changes over the years, the school is still completely operated by the families of students.

On a typical school day, the teacher and three parents staff the classroom. Each parent has a specific job in the classroom that they’ve been trained to do. The four adults work together seamlessly to create an intimate and enjoyable educational experience for the 18 or 20 children in the class.

Families who enroll their children in Webster Nursery School will get to see their child’s academic progress (and fun) firsthand. They will get to know their children’s classmates as well as their parents. Each family will hold an outside-the-classroom position to help the school function. If the family chooses the full-cooperative option, one parent will be a classroom aide an average of 2-3 times per month. Partial and non-cooperative options are also available.
